Askett Village Picnic
July 24 @ 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
We hope lots of you can celebrate the English Summer and bring a picnic to Askett House (at the end of the Lane which runs between Threeways Cottage and Vale Cottage almost opposite Crowbrook Road) next Saturday 24th July. Chris and Jacque Pavlosky have very kindly agreed to host this event, running from 2pm until 8pm and will include the use of their swimming pool and tennis court.
Get there early with your swimming cossies and towels to enjoy the heated pool and bring your rackets for the Askett Gold Cup (very similar to Wimbledon, but without the bureaucracy! – oh, or that big plate or cup). Come with a partner or opposition and I’m sure you will find others to play too. Jacque and Chris can provide paddles and ball to play Pickle ball, as well as rackets and balls for tennis if you do not have your own.
If you just want to indulge in a picnic, we shall start around 6pm, so don’t worry if you can’t make it earlier. You can bring tables, chairs, gazebo and picnic items any time from 10am on the day in your car and park in the orchard.
Maybe you would just like a picnic tea from 3.30pm? The above applies.
In addition, if anyone has a lawn game, please bring it to add to the fun.
Important Things to Note:
All young people under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All children must be supervised by their parents whilst using the pool. Pools can be dangerous places so please note that there will be no running, jumping or diving.
If the pool gets too crowded, we may have to restrict numbers going in and give everyone a limited amount of time in the water.
There is a toilet which can be used.
There are building works going on so please take care when at the back of the house as there are trenches and building equipment.
You can leave your picnic tables etc out and collect on Sunday at your own risk.
Sorry, this event is not for dogs (or any other pet).
