Introduction.
The Askett Photo Project is a ‘snaphot’ of the village to commemorate the Queens Jubilee in June 2022, the aim being to generate a new set of images for the future. In the collection many of the houses, residents and other folk associated with the village are recorded. The images of the buildings will be shared with the Princes Risborough Heritage Society and The Bucks County Archives. Photographs of village residents are not for public viewing and remain in house and will not be shared with any organisations. In addition we have some pictures of people, transport and other items for future reference.
Of course, 2022 proved to be a momentous year, the passing of The Queen in September, the war in Ukraine, the cost of living crisis , the heatwave and drought to name but a few.
The value and joy that historical photos give that show everyday life is clear and there are many examples of old images at the end of this section. Many historical photos came to light in recording this new collection.
The new photo collection is represented by seven galleries.
